Saturday morning Introductory Yoga
In this 5 week Series for beginners or near-beginners, you will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of yoga practice. The only pre-requisite for this class is that you be able to get on the floor and get back up again. Everything else will be taught to you in a precise way, with proper modifications brought to each posture as needed. Our teaching methodology promotes the harmonization of body, breath and mind, which leads to a feeling of wellness and stability.

Tuesday Evening Continuing Yoga for Seasoned Practitioners
The Tuesday night “sangha” consists of students who have practiced yoga at Upstate Yoga for many years and have a skillful connection to the linking of body movement and breath and have experienced many postures and combinations/vinyasas. It is also open to people who have prior yoga experience in other traditions. In this case, please speak with the instructor before signing in as they will need to make sure the class is a good fit for you. The class ends with a sitting meditation.

Thursday morning Continuing Yoga with David
This morning class provides students who have a basic understanding of asanas/ postures with intentional breathing the opportunity to take their practice of yoga further. The asana sequences explore more postures and combinations while preparing the student's body, mind and breath for a concluding meditative focus on breathing called pranayama. The series is open to all who wish to deepen their connection to yoga in order to find personal relevance and support as they move through their daily life.
If interested and have not taken the introductory program at Upstate, please first speak with the instructor
Tuition is $108 for the 6 weeks.

Monday Morning Restorative Yoga
This is an ongoing restorative series that is ideal for individuals who have health issues or limited mobility. Having difficulty getting down on the floor would not preclude participation. The guidance focuses on moving the body while being attentive to intentional breathing techniques. Observing one's breath and body in a slower step by step progression enables students to understand how to adapt postures more appropriately to meet their personal needs. The practice ends with a guided relaxation which has restorative and meditative potentials.
Tuition: $90 for the 5 week series.

Saturday morning Movement, Breath, Sound and Silence
This is a unique series which blends movement, breath and sound to cultivate an open heart and a silent mind. Prior experience in yoga, music, chanting or sanskrit is not necessary. Everything will be taught gradually and from the beginning. The first part of class will be dedicated to a gentle yoga and pranayama practice which will prepare participants for chanting. The second part will focus on chanting, presentation of meaning and meditation. Tuition for the 5 week series is $60. Note that we will not meet on March 8th as the space will be used for another program. For a more thorough description of this series, go to this page.
